ULTRA WIDEBAND
On 3 March 2015, the Italian Government approved the Italian Ultra Wideband Strategy, which sets out to provide 85% of the population with infrastructures capable of carrying high speed services of 100 Mpbs or above, and ensure 100% of citizens Internet access with at least 30 Mbps, by 2020. The general aim of the Italian Ultra Wideband Strategy is the nationwide development of future-proof telecommunications infrastructure. Specifically, the strategy intends to deliver: Connectivity with at least 100 Mbps to up to 85% of the Italian population, while also ensuring coverage of at least 30 Mbps download speed to all citizens by 2020. Coverage of at least 100 Mbps for public institutions and buildings (especially schools and hospitals).
